Chicago beatsmith, K-Kruz, precisely targets his return and strikes back with his 3rd solo installment “Beat Sniper” an on point rapid fire collection of instrumental beats spanning the past decade of his production career.

A worthy resume with additional production credit (Diverse “Time” track) on the Urban Renewal Program album, one half of the hip-hop group Modill and having worked with Dave from De La Soul, Count Bass D, Caural, Racecar as Modill, Diverse, Primeridian, Thaione Davis, Capital D, Iomos Marad, Longshot and Steve Spacek!

Beneath Autumn Sky’s first full length effort, “Enki Dus Mono” was released on Hefty Records in 2001 to much acclaim and comparison to Prefuse 73’s – Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives also released in 2001. The little known and limited LP release was shortly followed up by a couple remixes and b-sides on Hefty.

With the duo completely eclipsed until 2006, Organik Recordings located producers Smaze on a menonite farm in Illimois & Zane3 in Florida! 2007 marked the short return by Beneath Autumn Sky in the form of a 7” titled “Peace Now” b/w “Attention All Deficits”, only to be quickly re-eclipsed when the label was almost sued by another label. The 7” was pulled from distribution and disappeared, as did the duo. The 7” release was also the pre-cursor to the shelved complete & mastered album “Renewed” LP.

While Beneath Autumn Sky releases tend to be more gritty and rough, “Renewed” is just that gritty and rough withstanding the test of time! Still intune and ontime to the sound progression of the ever iluminating future beat movement we’ve all grown to love and found among chopshop class members Prefuse 73, Flying Lotus, Dabrye, Dibiase, Lazer Sword et al.

2012 unearths the 10 tracks of the electronic boom bap glitch hop beat duo’s sophomore release “Renewed” on vinyl LP and in digital format.

**Limited to a strict 280 unit pressing each vinyl LP is enclosed with an original copy of the discontinued 7”.**

This release marks the first revisit to the vinyl format for Textual in about 6 years. Over the last 4 years or so I have been moving away from beatmaking on the computer and into more ambient live or improvised musics using looping pedals and home built synthesizers. Electronics has become a major passion of mine and I have definitely spent a lot of time building machines that can make new or different sounds as well as making freer or loose sounding recordings for self releases. The release of this 7” marks a continuation of that time prior to getting away from the beat making and computer music writing.

‘Something So Personal’ is a track from a larger collection of tunes similar in style, all which had my friend Rain singing on them. When I was living in Gainesville FL circa 2005, Rain and I were collaborating quite a bit and there are scores of ‘unfinished’ tracks to show for, unfortunately they all lie in the demos section of my computer and are largely unfinished or merely sketches (and likely will remain this way). We were playing these songs out live throughout 05-06’ as I was attempting to make a band from these collaborations. Alas I was never satisfied with much of the output in live or recorded format and trying to be a band leader amongst many different schedules led to the dismantling of sorts of the ‘band’ form of Textual. This track is the most finished and stable of the songs we were doing and I am glad it is now available, especially in the vinyl format.

What is False Can Now be True, was a song originally released on Organik as part of the LP/CD ‘Dirty South Still Life’. The remix on side B of this 7” was done by Travis Stewart aka Machinedrum. Travis and I have known each other for some years from our Florida days. I have always appreciated his music making capabilities and his ‘digital’ style.. He has a way with sounds for sure. I don’t know if there could have been a more fitting candidate for a remix of this tune than he.

Roane Namuh (aka DJ Roane), a 23 year old native of Portland, OR graces us, and the world, with his take on laid back instrumental boom bap hip-hop with his debut opus, “OKhandsignal”, a 12 track vinyl voyage. The vinyl album is accompanied, via dropcard, by a complete 31 track mixed digital version which is included free with every vinyl purchase! If you’re seeking the digital only version, it will be available at every major global digital outlet.

Roane’s production format is a simple yet proven method, old records & the Akai MPC2000XL. Every sound, texture and frequency used is taken from vinyl dug out from record store bins by Roane himself. “OKhandsignal” shows a student’s respect to the masters of golden era hip-hop production. However, upon the first play, it will be apparent that Roane has developed his own unique style and his own mastery of the beat.

The complete 31 track digital album is ‘freeqwenced’ (Roane terminology for his style of production) to flow as if it were one of his strictly vinyl DJ mixes, never leaving you out of motion or off the beat.
